State Tournament
Missouri Science Olympiad State Tournament will be held on March
27th, 2010 at the University of Missouri - Columbia.
New changes for State Qualifiers
As we prepare to start all the
2010 regional competitions, the Board of Directors have decided to
make a change in the way we prepare the winners for state.
-
You will receive a packet if you earn the invitation to
compete at the State Tournament.
Instead of the usually 7-9 papers in the packet to fill
out and return to the Missouri Science Olympiad office, you will
receive 3 different pieces of paper.
The letter congratulating you with the information
enclosed the T-shirt order form, and the Acceptance to the State
Tournament form. In
the letter, you will find a username and password to a secure
page on the Missouri Science Olympiad Website.
This secure page will contain all of the other pages you
normally receive in the packet (vandalism, cheating,
interference and constructed devices forms, homeroom signup,
final registration, coaches information, etc.).
You will be able to access them at any time, print and
sign them and then send in as you normally would.
-
Another change that will occur with this year is team
numbers for state.
This year, all teams invited to compete at the State Tournament
will receive their team number on the secure website on March 2,
2010. With this
form, you will find your team number, as well as the other
qualifying teams, coaches names and e-mail addresses in the
event that you wish to facilitate a trade with another team.
The major difference is that teams that compete earlier
in the year will not have an opportunity to facilitate trades
within their region therefore creating an unfair advantage at
the state level when other regions have not competed yet.
